About Us

Thank you for visiting our website.

In 2021, all of our farm was certified as an organic tea farm.

Our family has been living here in Ujitawara-cho, Kyoto since Kisaburo Koyama (~1468), and has protected the land.

Records of tea making have been preserved since the late Meiji period and I am the fourth generation tea farmer.

Since the introduction of PET bottled green tea, the environment surrounding tea has changed considerably in the past 20 years.

In the midst of such times, we were inevitably on the road to mass production and large-scale farming, but a turning point came in 2016.

Triggered by the words we received from a customer, we began to shift to organic cultivation that does not use pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

It was also a time when we had strong doubts about the current situation of the use of large amounts of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

Furthermore, we have started to open up the entire tea cultivation process to our customers since 2018 thatvisitors can freely tour the inside of the tea plantation.

We think that traceability of tea production is the most important information for our customers.

We would like to continue to take on various challenges for sustainable agriculture where all "people" and "things" related to tea can always be happy.
